- Which setup UPS, wall, surge gets you closest to a file on the server?
- Gigabyte server as the streamer + server
- The sound is super compressed, flat, and lacks dynamics and extension. That rich detail is gone and you just get a smooth sound.
- With the sMS-200 back in the chain, you get a much lower noise floor, ridiculous clarity, amazing separation, and micro-details that will raise eyebrows.
Impressions:
- Moving from a separate detached roon server to bridge...more dynamics more detail and just more musical. Amazing clarity.
- I would say this is a game changer. Unprecendent level of detail on this system.
- As close to live and real as you could get.
Ruth B - Lost Boys
- I've never heard this song with this much clarity. I can't believe it's the same recording.
- The pace and timing is much more coherent...in ways I never thought. Sounds more like a live recording rather than a piecewise presentation I thought it was.
