vs. JH Audio Angies
- Mat Kearney - Ships in the Night
- The angies are just more natural and coherent.
- Much much better bass impact and atmospherics
- The senns are definitely more sparkly and lean, but a bit dull.
- A lot more air around instruments with the angies
- Not as holographic as the angie
- senn kinda flat not engaging
- angies sounds a bit bass heavy in comparison, but much more texture much more realism, way deep soundstage.
- angie realistic piano etc.
- I have to say even tho the seens don't have the low end weight or depth, it's very sparkly and transparent, lots of micro details. just no body and texturing at all. the angies sound a bit bloated/bloomy in comparison. muddy.
There's a clarity with the senns vs the angies. The angies are much warmer, more organic bloom. More coherence and more body to voices. More like a real performance, being there. While the senns sound like a good recording with lots of detail. Marta Gomez - Seis
- Vocals are more laid back but crystal clear
- angie and senns are on the opposite side of the spectrum. with the senn you do get this open and very clear sound, you could hear her voice very clearly, along with all the players. it sounds quite good
- The angies actually sound a bit overly warm in comparison. for this song the senns sound a bit flat but doesn't miss any details. very analytical, not too musical to my ears.
Layla - Eric Claptop
- Senns come in a bit harsh, not enough warmth. but x-ray ish
- imaging is pretty good on the senn
- Angie isn't as crisp as the senn actually. they sound pretty big for IEMs. No shimmer like the Senn.
- the Angies sound a bit muffled at times. That's odd.
- Angies just have more warmth and depth. seems like the details aren't as apparent.
- Hooking the angies up to balanced xlrs to the 430HA, that muddiness goes away so it was the Heron 5. Much more clarity, blacker background, separation, and dynamics on the 430HA.
- Much more holographic with the 430HA
- 430HA improved the sound of the sennhesier as well, amazing clarity. good shimmer on the cymbals. it just lacks warmth and has a bit of a edgy sound on the treble region.
- senn doesn't have the depth and organics of the angie, but i think would be great for classical, better than angie.
- grainy in comparison to angie, instruments may not sound accurate, a bit cold. not fun.
- angies are a billion times more engaging, more warm, atmospheric, definitely softer, vocals sound more like real vocals, audience sounds like they have warm bodies.
As far as size, the Angies sound pretty much at the level of the Senns IMO, big sound. need to fix email system on audiobacon comment captcha find out if monday works REview everyting else Selle verything Sell uptone regen taxes Pack Cs shorts Zedd, Foxes - Clarity DacMagic XS Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Lots of authority on bass Bassy undertones Mids are a bit recessed warmer than the DF Vocals still more realistic than DF, a bit grainy, raspy, not a lot of authority Bass not as tight, not as much impact as DF or GO Least engaging ME is a lot more refined in comparison, not grainy at all. Vocals sound more natural than DF Background instruments and still present but on the DF they kinda stay to the back with more vocal presence JH Audio Angie (Custom) Philips Fidelio X2/27 Dragonfly v1.2 Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Sounds more refined, brighter than the DM vlocals are thin echo easily heard track stays mostly in the brighter side very articulate More sparkle than the rest Very tight, controlled bass response Very detailed, you could hear the echo in her voice Vocals are a bit edgy tilted towards higher frequencies You hear more of the music but on the brighter end vocals a bit more flat and unnatural ME sounds like a pillow in front in comparison titled towards the brighter end so might here things you don't hear on the rest but doesn't sound balanced. JH Audio Angie (Custom) Philips Fidelio X2/27 Geek Out V2 Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Vocals sound more organic and natural. Best out of the group. The DF sounds a bit edgy compared to the GO Very detailed Tight bass, good atmospherics no overpowering More cohesive than the bunch Tonally balanced, more engaging than the DF A much more cohesive and natural presentation than the DF, PRat More involving and balanced compare to DM Much more musical than ME Has that bit of life to the voice that the ME is missing The ME2 sounds a bit congested in comparison JH Audio Angie (Custom) Philips Fidelio X2/27 Meridian Explorer2 Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Vocals are the smooth but a bit subdued and rolled-off on the higher end, not airy, Soft is probably the best description smoothest vocals The vocals lack grain unlike DF and DM Not as engaging as the DF or GO Good bass impact and presence compared to the others More laid back Vocals have good presence but surrounds seem to play more in the back Separation and air is not as good as GO or DF Sounds a little veiled Not as detailed to my ears compared to the other 3 Not as musical Sounds suffocated compared to DM, not as musical Lacks texture compared to the other DACs vocals are wider, smoother, too smooth maybe? take away from emotion of voice warm compared to the DM. DM has more air, more energy, and vocals more recessed More smearing of vocals to instruments, vocies are not dead center compared to DM. You could hear the pieces of the song better with the DM. I prefer it over the ME. JH Audio Angie (Custom) Philips Fidelio X2/27 Chord Hugo (Reference) Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 In one word effortless. The vocals sound a lot more natural than rest of the cast. Nothing overpowers each other. Involving, you could hear all parts of song more equally. More forward compared to the ME2, voice actually sounds close Liquid JH Audio Angie (Custom) Philips Fidelio X2/27
