MSB/Kimber I was consider of stakcing my lumin on top of my 430HA I really didn't want to purchase these things, what can little metal parts do really? we all have been told not to stack equipment, now i know why. Cumulative improvements. The biggest thing i noticed is the compressed soundstage and lack of dynamics, especially on the higher frequencies. Those Were the Days - Blubell & Black Tie
- placing the lumin back down with stillpoints back and forth probably 20 times.
- really couldn't believe it.
- some details are smeared and the dynamics of the strings loses its textures
- soundstage is not as wide
- You lose that holographic sound, the sparkle in the strings, and the refinement in the voice.
- Sounds fatigued without the stillpoints
- You definitely lose some warmth and low-end, sounds like a different song. bring the life back with stillpoints.
- the plucking's texture is back...the music is back.
- the treble is soften, tactile plucks are gone.
- pancake flat...dynamics are lost. incredible.
- place a book in place, More of an issue of stacking equipment on top of each other.
- book vs stillpoints, blacker background and greater clarity with stillpoints. so it's not just used as a divide.
- slightly More energy and body with the stillpoints...?
- dynamics are obliterated when sitting on top
- Under the amp, the soundstage is less deep and loses the dyanmics and imaginng.
- So under the amp, if there's nothing under it, it makes a huge difference. A book works and still gets close to the performance of stillpoints.
P10
- The difference were immediate. The soundstage collapses and the strings are smeared. imaging is more fuzzy.
- smearing causes loss in detail esp in the low-end
- loses shimmer on the high end
- to be honest it still sounds good but you wouldn't get that isolate vocals without the stillpoints.
- the intro, the strums were congest and smeared
- the vocals were more forward along with the guitar on the left, flatter soundstage
- the imaging isn't pinpoint. with the stillpoints, you know exactl where she's singing. without...it blurs with the instruments.
- stillpoints gives you that extra separation and clarity on the vocals. crisp sound.
- better separatoin, resolution, and imaging.
- books seem to do the job as well but wasn't as sharp as using the stillpoints. fuck vibrations!
